Joshua Ward

With experience in IT, marketing, and sales, Josh Ward plays a key leadership role in the web hosting industry. Currently the Vice President of Global Sales with Nexcess near Detroit, Michigan, Josh helps create secure, redundant, and scalable solutions for a diverse array of clients. Over the past three years Josh has built out a full sales team at Nexcess and has been a key contributor to accelerated growth at Nexcess consistently setting sales and client acquisition records.

Josh is originally from southeast Texas, called Austin home for 25 years, and now lives in Brighton, MI. He met his wife, Clesha, in high school while playing basketball. Josh played college football at the Colorado School of Mines, once poked an alligator in the eye and then shot it for trying to bite him, and ate his weight in raw gulf oysters. On the weekends, Josh avidly avoids yard work by spending quality time (sports, fishing, and card games) with Clesha and their four kids who call him “El Jefe.”

Tyler Lau

Tyler helps with social media and business development at Sandhills Development. Although he comes with a background in industrial design, he’s coming up to speed with WordPress!

Megan Morsie

Megan is a web developer in the Cleveland, OH area specializing in WordPress. She currently works as the Systems and Development Manager at KHM Travel Group. She first got into web development with HTML & CSS on her Neopets site when she was 12. She has been working with WordPress since 2013.

Megan co-organizes the NEO WordPress Meetup and blogs about WordPress, management, and some other things in her spare time. Also, she loves guinea pigs.

Suzanne Seibel

Front end web developer, content creator, writer and graphic designer at Graphic Visions, Inc. in Northville (25 yrs). Build sites using HTML/CSS/Bootstrap; built and/or manage about 10+ WordPress sites. Most clients are local service businesses.

Tim O’Haver

Tim O’Haver is a former corporate IT professional with 15+ years of volunteer work building and managing websites for small nonprofits.

When his sister started a food blog four years ago, it became the genesis of larger effort to help others new to WordPress.

In 2018, Tim has been a presenter at his local Columbus, Ohio WordPress Meetup, a volunteer at WordCamps Dayton and Kent, and a WordPress.com support forum volunteer.

Ryan Plas

Ryan Plas is the Security Developer at Defense Point Security, LLC and an ongoing WordPress Core Contributor.

Besides building web-based security solutions for his day job, Ryan writes about subjects like the Transient API on his blog and creates emoji-based test reporters on GitHub.

When he’s not teaching his son to be a cryptologist, he can be found chronicling the adventures of a Toddler Foodie on Instagram, spending time with his family, continuously adding to his skillset, and otherwise celebrating the simple things in life.

I’m a home schooled, sixteen year old girl, from Grand Rapids, MI who has been using WordPress off and on since 2014. Recently, I created a site using BuddyPress as a way to keep my friends who either aren’t allowed on Facebook or are too young to stay in contact with one another.

In my free time, I am an artist who loves learning languages and playing my ukulele.

Alex Standiford

“I decided to switch to a remote-work and web development lifestyle in 2014 when my wife and I had our first child. I just couldn’t stand spending so much time away from my family, especially since my son was so young, and was usually asleep before I got home from work.

When I’m not writing code, I am probably enjoying craft beer, playing disc golf, sailing, or camping.

Beyond that, I spend most of my free time with my wife, Katey, my son Bennett, and my fetch-loving Springer Spaniel, Phoebe.”

Jeannette Washington

Jeannette is a former Speech Language Pathologist with nearly a decade of experience working with students that exhibit special abilities. Her expertise in the field of dyslexia has been solicited for articles in The Washington Post, GraduateSchool.org, and AccreditedSchoolsOnline.com to name a few. She is an active member of the International Dyslexia Association. Jeannette has spoken at events such as the Mississippi Dyslexia Symposium and WordCamp Detroit where she boasts the importance of inclusivity and neuro diversity in the tech industry. Jeannette currently works with Microsoft Philanthropies and Detroit Public Schools Community District teaching high school students how to code.

Peter Shackelford

Peter has been co-leading the Jackson WordPress meetup with Kyle Maurer for over six year. Prior to joining the team of Developers at A2 Hosting, he build and managed multisites, ecommerce sites and high traffic blogs for previous employers.

Kyle Maurer

Kyle works at Sandhills Development on Easy Digital Downloads which is a WordPress plugin that makes selling digital products ridiculously simple. He’s a native of Jackson, Michigan, co-hosts the Get Options podcast, and helps organize meetups and WordCamps in the region while brewing fine beer and playing guitar as often as possible.
